1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is located on the edge of transmission, above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends a signal to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the position of the camshaft, so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of line with the Intake Camshaft. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get 0ohm. So i assume the problem is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car is able to start if the G28 is unplugged and is running fine when it is plugged in however it has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars when the actual pressure is 0.

I'm not certain what to do, i think i've pretty much ruled out everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. Please let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump
